The 16th Sustainability Report of Mohawk Industries, which brings together results and best practices from all Group companies, highlights Marazzi Group’s concrete achievements in innovation, training, and international recognition.
Mohawk Industries, a global leader in the flooring sector with a presence in around 180 countries, has published its 16th Sustainability Report. The Group exceeded its reduction target for Scope 1, 2 and biogenic emissions and recorded a 117% increase in renewable energy consumption, with a 53% growth in solar energy production. At the same time, global water withdrawal intensity improved thanks to the reuse and elimination of large volumes of wastewater in production processes, particularly in ceramic tile operations worldwide.
These results have further strengthened the Group’s positioning, which has been recognized as Climate Leader America and Eco Leader.
As part of this journey, Marazzi Group, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries and an international leader in ceramic and porcelain tile design and production, reinforced its contribution through initiatives focused on people, processes, and sustainable product innovation.
- People First
In 2024, Marazzi Group delivered 12,641 hours of training, a 26.5% increase compared to the previous year, 60% of which were dedicated to safety. The company also launched People-Ness, an innovative training program for the entire workforce, involving more than 200 employees on topics such as well-being, diversity, and interpersonal relations. These initiatives contributed to the company being certified as a Top Employer for the ninth consecutive year and as a Best Employer for the third time. - Product innovation
The Group’s commitment to sustainable innovation has led to the development of collections featuring a high percentage of recycled material and low-impact production processes. Within this framework, the Realstone Travertino collection received the Archiproducts Sustainable Award, in recognition of its alignment with sustainable design principles, the significant use of recycled materials, and environmentally responsible manufacturing. - Environmental commitment
On the environmental side, the Group recovered 107,190 MWh of heat through three cogeneration plants and avoided 31,704 tons of CO2 emissions by purchasing 71,858 MWh of renewable energy with Guarantee of Origin. In addition, 100% of imported electricity came from renewable sources.
Mauro Vandini, Global Ceramic President of Mohawk Industries and CEO of Marazzi Group, stated: “We continue to pursue constant improvement and responsible innovation.
