The theme of tactile appeal, understood as the enhancement of textures found in nature and attention to detail, both in terms of colors and three-dimensional rendering of surfaces, unites the new Stoneplay collection completely dedicated to the world of natural stone.
Three different subjects, Cliff and Ardesia – with a more Nordic and precise style – and Mayenne – more Mediterranean and relaxed – draw their inspiration from real existing types of stone that can be traced to our tradition of using materials in architecture and interior design.
Three-dimensional patterns bearing the marks of passing time underline a concept of timeless recognisability for ceramic products that never go out of fashion.
Within the Stoneplay collection, the Cliff variant reinterprets an ancient English limestone from the island of the same name located in Dorset and used in the past for the design of historic buildings, such as the famous St Paul’s Cathedral in London, and later for various public buildings throughout England, including the façade of Buckingham Palace.
The rectified porcelain stoneware version by Ragno Ceramiche features bold graphic patterning with cross-cut mottled effects in the colors Bianco, Beige and Grey, in sizes 100×100, 60×120 and 60×60 cm with a thickness of 8.5 mm.
Cliff, like the entire Stoneplay series, is processed with 3D Ink technology, which fully enhances surfaces’ natural appeal thanks to the perfect synchronization between ever-changing patterning and structures, achieved through an advanced system that combines optical recognition and precise printing. Shade variations, along with natural and structured finishes, are carefully balanced on each individual piece, creating voluminous, deep surfaces for a meticulous and realistic visual-tactile result in every detail.
Domino Mosaic in the 29×39 cm size with chips with rounded edges is created using 3D Ink technology for sophisticated design covering applications that amplify the variegated effect of the surface.
Remaining in a Nordic mood, the Ardesia version, with the typical anthracite color of slate, features subtle pale veining running through its more compact background patterning. Again available in the 100×100, 60×120 and 60×60 cm sizes with a thickness of 8.5 mm, worked with 3D Ink technology, and in the XT20 100×100 cm size with 20 mm thickness specifically for the outdoor world.
Within the Stoneplay collection, Mayenne is the third selected aesthetic that reproduces natural stone from the Mayenne region of France, which is particularly valued in the architectural sector for its rich patterning and high technical performance.
Mayenne expresses a warm Mediterranean style, conveyed by the tranquil veining and delicate shade variations of the two colors, Avorio and Beige, and further underlined in the Foglia Mosaic in 31×39 cm size. In this case too, the 100×100, 60×120 and 60×60 cm sizes are available with a thickness of 8.5 mm worked with 3D Ink technology and, as for Ardesia, both colors come in the 100×100 cm sizewith a thickness of 20 mm.
The Stoneplay XT20 slabs are completed with a wide range of trims to meet the most diverse intended uses in residential and commercial environments. Furthermore, all Stoneplay aesthetics are available in a structured version for outdoor use in the 60×120 cm size to enhance the visual continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Finally, the evergreen aesthetic of Stoneplay subjects is perfect for creative combinations with small-size collections – such as Look, Gleeze and Mélange – or with coverings and glossy 3D structures – such as those in the new Lucida collection – and other surfaces with a marble or wood effect – Incanto or Inedito and Boheme – already present in the Ragno range. A mix of color highlights and textures combine to imbue interiors with a discreet, understated elegance based on an original style that emphasises the quality of materials and their workmanship and generates comfortable and harmonious moods.
