A project that blends nature, sustainability and tradition, conceived by Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects

Ragno Ceramiche’s Milan showroom project, designed by Benedetta Tagliabue – EMBT Architects, received an honourable mention at The Plan Award 2024, a prestigious international award celebrating excellence in architecture, interior design and urban planning.

The project’s origins lie in the concept of the ‘spider’ (‘ragno’ in Italian), taken from the name and history of the company, which had a stylised spider as its first logo to symbolise industriousness and craftsmanship. The showroom design incorporates organic wooden geometric forms inspired by spider webs. Featuring a long succession of arches that define the rooms, the space presents the ceramic and stoneware collections through a novel display format that showcases a variety of ceramic materials available to designers and private individuals, suggesting exclusive combinations of the different surfaces in the range. Materials and furnishings have been carefully selected and combined with warm lighting and neutral tones, highlighting the ceramic tiles as works of art, complemented by custom-made furniture.

Benedetta Tagliabue has rendered the showroom as a kaleidoscope of colors, textures and designs that convey all the expressive potential of ceramics.
The project is a remarkable example of innovative design, perfectly integrating craftsmanship, sustainability and functionality.
