Casa Mediterranea: elegance and tradition in harmony

Reading time: minutes

“Casa Mediterranea” is a detached home on the island of Ischia, renovated by architect Francesco Ambrosino. The project evokes Mediterranean architecture with an elegant graduated color scheme.

In his renovation of “Casa Mediterranea”, architect Francesco Ambrosino has created a project that celebrates the unadorned simplicity of Mediterranean architectural forms. Located on the charming island of Ischia, one of the Phlegraean islands in the Gulf of Naples, this detached home makes skilful use of the Eterna stone-effect stoneware collection, chosen in Blanco color.

The Eterna collection, adopted in sizes 60×60 cm for the floors throughout the house and 60×120 cm for the bathroom walls, was selected to create an elegant graduated color scheme that runs from the white plaster to the black furniture, by way of a rich assortment of neutral and natural shades.

In the bathroom, the Eterna stone-effect stoneware also extends to the walls, creating an inviting ambience of pure elegance. The black details of the furnishings and finishes underline the overall harmony of the interior, which is elegant yet welcoming.

The Eterna collection features the innovative CleanOut Antibacterial Protection and StepWise technologies. CleanOut provides antimicrobial protection integrated in surfaces, inhibiting the growth of pathogenic micro-organisms such as bacteria, moulds and fungi, reducing bacterial load by up to 99.9% and neutralising unpleasant odours. This silver ion-based treatment is permanent, and continues to emit its protective action by day and by night, even without exposure to UV radiation.

StepWise, on the other hand, provides a surface that combines a soft “feel” with outstanding slip resistance performance, delivering safety and comfort in all locations.
Eterna is manufactured with a high percentage of recycled material (40%) and its composition is similar to that of sedimentary rock, giving the project a natural, authentic look. This choice not only enhances the interior design with timeless beauty but also reflects a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.

The unique subtlety of the coverings enables individual contaminations, where trendy furnishings with a strong personality combine attractively with pure, ancestral materials. Every part of Casa Mediterranea is unique, expressing the perfect blend of modern design and natural beauty.
